How to use Motir

Use one part, two, or all three.

Motir has three parts. The project management tool sits in the middle and holds the plan. The planner plans into it. The agent runner takes tasks from it and builds them. Any part you'd rather run yourself, you can.

  1. Plans

    Motir AI Planner

Turns your idea into epics, stories and tasks, and files them into the project once you approve.

  2. Holds the plan

    Motir Project Management

The board, backlog, sprints and roadmap. Every planner and every agent, yours or Motir's, works through it.

  3. Builds

    Motir Agent Fleet

Takes each ready task, runs an agent on it on its own machine, in parallel with the others, and opens the pull request.

Three ways to use it

1 · Project management only

Your planner, your agents, Motir in the middle.

Use Motir as the project management tool and keep everything around it your own.

Planning over MCP stays open. Write your own planner, a script or an agent, and it files the plan into Motir with the same tools Motir's planner uses: create_plan, add_plan_items and validate_plan. Before Motir AI Planner was built, Motir planned itself this way too, with a script called plan.py.

Your agents connect over MCP. Each one takes the next ready task with claim_next_ready, runs it, and reports back with close_work_item_run. Motir keeps track of who has which task and what shipped.

2 · Planner and project management

Motir plans. Your agents build.

Add Motir AI Planner. Give it your idea: it asks what it needs to know, lays the work out as epics, stories and tasks, and files the plan into the project once you approve it.

The building stays yours. Your own orchestration takes ready tasks from Motir over MCP, hands each one to an agent, and reports the result back.

3 · All three parts

Type the idea. Watch it get planned. Watch it get built.

Motir takes care of everything in between. The planner turns your idea into a plan for you to approve. The approved plan goes onto the board. Motir Agent Fleet takes each ready task, runs an agent on it, and opens the pull request.

You decide at the gates: approve the plan, then review what gets merged.
