Ideas to build

Build what Motir would buy.

A software company runs on more than code. It needs a lawyer, an accountant, a security team and people who know other markets, and Motir is no different. We would rather buy that work from a product built on Motir. These are the ones we need. Build one that scales, and Motir will be your first customer.

A few sentences is enough. Motir asks about the rest.

Motir is your first customer

Build one of these on Motir, in public, and we will use it, pay for it and tell you what is missing.

What makes a good idea here

Products that scale, not tools for one team

  1. Many customers, one productEvery idea serves thousands of companies with the same problem, not one company's own process.
  2. Expertise you can't hire cheaplyLaw, tax, security, languages: work that needs a specialist, made affordable by AI and kept honest by people.
  3. A person still signsThe AI drafts, checks and files the work. A qualified person approves what carries risk, the same way Motir puts a person at every gate.

Good products to build, beyond what Motir needs

Motir won't be your first customer for these. Each is a market with documented demand, a gap the current players leave open, and a reason it can be built now and not five years ago. The evidence is linked under each one.

Relabel every food product for China's 2027 label rules, starting from the recipe

For small and mid-sized Chinese food makers, and importers who add Chinese back-labels. The maker enters each product's recipe once. The tool writes the label China requires from 16 March 2027: the eight allergens marked, the seven-line nutrition table with saturated fat and sugar, the new expiry-date wording, and banned 'zero added' claims removed. It works across the whole catalogue.

    The evidence
GB 7718-2025, the national standard for labelling prepackaged food, was published with a two-year transition period. It makes eight allergen groups mandatory on labels, changes the label to show a shelf-life expiry date, and bans phrases like 'no added' and 'zero added' for highlighting ingredients. Beijing News 新京报 (zh)
    The gap
The players found only check text that already exists. LVT-AI audits a finished label against GB 7718/28050 and does not generate one. Consultancies such as CIRS, REACH24H and ChemLinked publish explanations and review labels by hand, one inquiry at a time. Western label tools such as Food Label Maker and GoVisually are built around FDA and EU rules. None of them starts from the recipe to work out the allergens and the new saturated-fat and sugar lines, and none tracks a whole catalogue to the cutover. A small maker with dozens of products still does this by hand or pays for each label.

Medical-insurance self-check for small clinics and pharmacies in China

For China's private clinics, dental practices and pharmacies that bill the state medical insurance: reviews two years of claims against the local list of problems inspectors look for, checks each charge against the patient record, helps return money that was wrongly claimed, and keeps the file an inspector will ask to see.

    • Compliance

    • China market
    • Small businesses
    • Vertical software
    The evidence
In 2025 the national medical insurance system recovered 34.219 billion yuan, handled 471,700 designated medical and pharmacy institutions under their agreements, and found 1,626 institutions guilty of fraud. At the end of 2025 only 43.38% of institutions were connected to the regulator's real-time pre-claim reminder system. The Paper 澎湃新闻 (zh), reporting the NHSA 2025 statistical bulletin
    The gap
The tools sit with the regulator and big hospitals. The NHSA's own pre-claim reminder system (43% connected at end-2025) checks each claim as it is made; it does not go back over two years of claims or match charges to records. Weining Technology built the regulator's supervision system and sells risk control to 1,400+ hospitals, not clinics. Large hospitals can install the rule base in their own systems. A one-doctor clinic, dental practice or pharmacy has no compliance staff and nothing that does the backward self-check and keeps the defence file.

UK visa sponsor compliance, checked against the payroll

For UK employers who sponsor overseas workers, such as care homes, restaurants, shops and builders: reads the payroll and rota every pay period, catches pay below a worker's certificate and absences that must be reported, and drafts the Home Office report before the deadline.

    • Compliance
    • Small businesses
    The evidence
The Home Office revoked 1,948 sponsor licences between July 2024 and June 2025, more than double the 937 of the previous 12 months, and names adult social care, hospitality, retail and construction among the sectors with the highest levels of abuse. GOV.UK, Home Office news story, September 2025
    The gap
Immigration law firms such as Fragomen and Kingsley Napley serve large sponsors by the hour. Small-sponsor tools such as i-migrator, SponsorPro and SMS System are record keepers: the sponsor types in each worker and date and gets reminders. Payroll and HR software such as Sage, Xero, BrightPay and BrightHR holds pay and absence data but knows nothing of sponsorship. None checks one against the other.

A carrier safety file for small freight brokers

For small freight brokers who hand loads to trucking companies: checks each carrier's safety record against the broker's own written standard at every load, records why it was picked, and hands over the file when an insurer, shipper or lawyer asks.

    • Compliance
    • Small businesses
    • Vertical software
    The evidence
On 14 May 2026 the US Supreme Court unanimously reversed the lower court in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, letting state negligent-selection claims against freight brokers go forward. Supreme Court of the United States, docket No. 24-1238
    The gap
Carrier-vetting tools were built to stop fraud, not to show care over safety. Highway sells identity checks through a demo-led sale; Descartes MyCarrierPortal added an audit log only for its own customers; RMIS and Carrier Assure check insurance and authority at sign-up. None writes a small broker's own standard, rechecks it on every load and produces the defence file at a price a few-person broker can pay.

Jobsite safety briefings in every worker's own language

For contractors whose crews speak many languages: turns the day's real tasks into a spoken safety briefing in each worker's language, checks that every worker understood, and keeps the record an OSHA inspector or insurer asks for.

    • Compliance
    • Small businesses
    • Vertical software
    The evidence
Construction and extraction workers experienced 1,032 fatal injuries in 2024. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries, 2024
    The gap
Raken, SafetyCulture, HammerTech, Salus and Procore hand the foreman a library of pre-written talks, mostly in English and Spanish, with a signature for attendance. None writes the briefing from that day's tasks, speaks it in the language each worker actually uses, or checks each worker understood. A signature proves attendance, not understanding, and understanding is OSHA's test.

    Stop returns before they happen

Spots the order bought in three sizes to send two back, answers the fit question before checkout, and scores each return for fraud.

    • Small businesses
    • Vertical software
    The evidence
Shoppers were expected to return $849.9 billion of goods in 2025, 19.3% of online sales, and 9% of returns are fraudulent. National Retail Federation and Happy Returns, October 2025
    The gap
Return platforms handle the return once it starts. Preventing it, for stores below enterprise size, is barely served.
  • AI infrastructure

    The AI transparency kit

A drop-in kit that tells users they're talking to an AI, marks generated content in a machine-readable way and labels deepfakes, as the EU now requires.

    • Compliance
    • Developer tools
    • EU AI Act
    • Small businesses
    The evidence
Article 50 of the EU AI Act applies from 2 August 2026. Only the provider-side machine-readable marking duty for systems already on the market gets until 2 December 2026. Fines reach €15 million or 3% of worldwide turnover. Jones Walker, AI Law Blog, July 2026
    The gap
Content-marking vendors serve enterprises or one platform. The disclosure duties have applied since 2 August 2026, and generative systems already on the market must add machine-readable marking by 2 December 2026. A small app maker still has no simple way to comply.

    Treatment options for vet clinics

During the exam, turns one diagnosis into two or three priced treatment plans with a payment plan attached, so the pet gets care the owner can afford.

    • Healthcare
    • Pricing and billing
    • Small businesses
    • Vertical software
    The evidence
94% of US vets say clients' finances often or sometimes prevent recommended treatment and 81% always or often recommend an alternative plan, yet 73% of owners who declined care over cost say they were not offered a lower-priced option. Gallup and PetSmart Charities, survey of 933 US vets, January 2026
    The gap
Vet AI tools write the visit notes and practice software books the visits. None turns a case into priced options.
