Ideas to build
Build what Motir would buy.
A software company runs on more than code. It needs a lawyer, an accountant, a security team and people who know other markets, and Motir is no different. We would rather buy that work from a product built on Motir. These are the ones we need. Build one that scales, and Motir will be your first customer.
Motir is your first customer
Build one of these on Motir, in public, and we will use it, pay for it and tell you what is missing.
What makes a good idea here
Products that scale, not tools for one team
- Many customers, one productEvery idea serves thousands of companies with the same problem, not one company's own process.
- Expertise you can't hire cheaplyLaw, tax, security, languages: work that needs a specialist, made affordable by AI and kept honest by people.
- A person still signsThe AI drafts, checks and files the work. A qualified person approves what carries risk, the same way Motir puts a person at every gate.

Products Motir would buy today
01 · Legal
An AI legal team for software companies
Terms, privacy policies, data processing agreements and the record of every vendor that touches customer data, drafted, kept current and reviewed by a lawyer.
- Drafts and updates terms, privacy policies and data processing agreements as the product changes
- Reviews vendor and customer contracts and flags what needs a lawyer
- Tracks new rules, like the EU AI Act, and says what each one changes for you
- AI agents
- B2B software
- Compliance
- EU AI Act
- Why Motir needs it
- Every model provider Motir adds needs a data processing agreement and a recorded legal basis for sending customer data to it. Today that is slow, manual work.
- Who else buys it
- Every software company that handles customer data, which is all of them.
02 · Finance
An AI finance team for startups
Price the plans, bill for usage, file the taxes and pay the vendors, from one place that understands what each customer actually costs.
- Sets plan prices from real costs: model calls, machine time, storage
- Reconciles usage billing and files sales tax and VAT in every country you sell to
- Pays vendors, tracks runway and closes the books each month
- B2B software
- Pricing and billing
- Startups
- Why Motir needs it
- Motir resells model calls and machine minutes at a margin. Pricing a plan means knowing the cost of every credit, in every currency, after tax.
- Who else buys it
- Every usage-priced software startup, from its first invoice to its first audit.
03 · Security & compliance
AI security and compliance, from the evidence
SOC 2 and ISO 27001 evidence collected from the code, the cloud and the project itself, and security questionnaires answered from it.
- Collects evidence from repositories, cloud accounts and the project's history
- Answers customer security questionnaires from that evidence, with sources
- Watches for drift and opens a work item when a control slips
- B2B software
- Compliance
- Why Motir needs it
- A business customer asks for a security review before it signs. Every answer is somewhere in Motir's code and records, and finding it takes days we would rather spend building.
- Who else buys it
- Every software company selling to a business big enough to ask.
04 · Customer support
AI support that knows the product
Answers customers from the docs, the code and the live state of the product, and turns a real bug into a planned work item instead of a reply.
- Answers from documentation, code and the customer's own account
- Hands a real defect to the engineering team as a planned work item, with the evidence
- Learns from every answer a person corrects
- AI agents
- B2B software
- Developer tools
- Why Motir needs it
- Motir's users ask about agents, models, credits and repositories. A good answer needs the code and the account, not a help-center search.
- Who else buys it
- Every developer-tool and B2B software company with more customers than support staff.
05 · Localization
AI localization that keeps up with the product
Translates the interface, the docs and the emails as they change, keeps every term consistent, and has a native speaker review what matters.
- Translates each change as it lands, not in a yearly project
- Keeps a glossary so a term means one thing everywhere
- Sends the risky strings, legal text and pricing to a native reviewer
- AI agents
- B2B software
- Why Motir needs it
- Motir ships in English and Chinese, and every release changes hundreds of strings. Keeping both right by hand does not scale to a third language.
- Who else buys it
- Every software company that wants customers outside its home country.
06 · Growth & marketing
AI growth for B2B software
Turns what a team ships into launch posts, changelog announcements, comparison pages and search-ready docs, and measures what brings customers.
- Writes the announcement for each release from the work that shipped
- Builds and refreshes the pages people search for before they buy
- Shows which pages and posts bring customers, not just visitors
- B2B software
- Startups
- Why Motir needs it
- Motir ships every day, in public. Turning that into posts and pages people find takes a marketing team we do not have.
- Who else buys it
- Every B2B software company that ships faster than it can tell anyone.

Good products to build, beyond what Motir needs
Motir won't be your first customer for these. Each is a market with documented demand, a gap the current players leave open, and a reason it can be built now and not five years ago. The evidence is linked under each one.
Sales
Proof of consent for every marketing text a Chinese business sends
For Chinese shops, clinics, schools and small B2B sellers that follow up leads and members by text message. It records each person's yes at the moment they give it (store QR code, mini-program form, WeCom chat, event sign-up), keeps that proof per phone number, honours opt-outs everywhere, and hands the proof to the text-message provider or a court when asked.
- Compliance
- China market
- Small businesses
- The evidence
- MIIT Order No. 74 (revised SMS Provisions), issued 9 Feb 2026, in force 1 May 2026. Art. 21: providers must require senders to supply the recipient's commitment or proof of consent for commercial texts; Art. 22: an easy opt-out must be offered and never obstructed; Art. 23: no further commercial texts after a refusal or without consent. State Council Gazette, gov.cn (zh)
- The gap
- Text providers such as Alibaba Cloud SMS check consent once, at template review, from a screenshot of a privacy policy and a member system, and apply opt-outs per sender name. Since 1 May 2026 the sender bears the proof, per recipient, and a text without it counts as illegal. Member and private-domain tools (Youzan, Weimob, WeCom SCRMs) hold phone lists and a member flag, but we found no product that keeps per-number proof of who agreed, how and when, and blocks sends without it across providers.

A brand-neutral companion for people on weight-loss pens in Brazil
For the millions of Brazilians on semaglutide or tirzepatide pens, now that cheaper Brazilian-made pens are reaching pharmacies. It keeps the prescription valid, tracks doses and side effects, guards against muscle loss, and compares prices across every brand's discount programme. Switching brands does not mean starting over.
- Consumers
- Healthcare
- Latin America market
- The evidence
- Anvisa approved 14 new pens for diabetes and obesity in 2026 (10 semaglutide, 3 liraglutide, 1 tirzepatide), including EMS's Ozivy (26 May) and products from Cosmed, Ávita Care, Brainfarma, Sun, Ranbaxy and Germed. Ozempic costs R$975 to R$999; Ozivy launched at R$452 to R$498 per pen; generics must be at least 35% cheaper than the reference drug. Revista Oeste (pt)
- The gap
- Support in Brazil is tied to one brand. Novo Nordisk's NovoDia and NovoCare cover only Novo products, EMS's Vida + Leve covers only Ozivy, and Eurofarma prices its own pens. A patient who switches to a cheaper pen leaves one programme and starts another. Clinic programmes such as Liti sell full medical follow-up at clinic prices. None keeps one record across brands that tracks the retained 90-day prescription, dose steps, side effects and protein in Portuguese.
Agriculture
Relabel every food product for China's 2027 label rules, starting from the recipe
For small and mid-sized Chinese food makers, and importers who add Chinese back-labels. The maker enters each product's recipe once. The tool writes the label China requires from 16 March 2027: the eight allergens marked, the seven-line nutrition table with saturated fat and sugar, the new expiry-date wording, and banned 'zero added' claims removed. It works across the whole catalogue.
- Compliance
- China market
- Small businesses
- Vertical software
- The evidence
- GB 7718-2025, the national standard for labelling prepackaged food, was published with a two-year transition period. It makes eight allergen groups mandatory on labels, changes the label to show a shelf-life expiry date, and bans phrases like 'no added' and 'zero added' for highlighting ingredients. Beijing News 新京报 (zh)
- The gap
- The players found only check text that already exists. LVT-AI audits a finished label against GB 7718/28050 and does not generate one. Consultancies such as CIRS, REACH24H and ChemLinked publish explanations and review labels by hand, one inquiry at a time. Western label tools such as Food Label Maker and GoVisually are built around FDA and EU rules. None of them starts from the recipe to work out the allergens and the new saturated-fat and sugar lines, and none tracks a whole catalogue to the cutover. A small maker with dozens of products still does this by hand or pays for each label.
Healthcare
Medical-insurance self-check for small clinics and pharmacies in China
For China's private clinics, dental practices and pharmacies that bill the state medical insurance: reviews two years of claims against the local list of problems inspectors look for, checks each charge against the patient record, helps return money that was wrongly claimed, and keeps the file an inspector will ask to see.
- Compliance
- Healthcare
- China market
- Small businesses
- Vertical software
- The evidence
- In 2025 the national medical insurance system recovered 34.219 billion yuan, handled 471,700 designated medical and pharmacy institutions under their agreements, and found 1,626 institutions guilty of fraud. At the end of 2025 only 43.38% of institutions were connected to the regulator's real-time pre-claim reminder system. The Paper 澎湃新闻 (zh), reporting the NHSA 2025 statistical bulletin
- The gap
- The tools sit with the regulator and big hospitals. The NHSA's own pre-claim reminder system (43% connected at end-2025) checks each claim as it is made; it does not go back over two years of claims or match charges to records. Weining Technology built the regulator's supervision system and sells risk control to 1,400+ hospitals, not clinics. Large hospitals can install the rule base in their own systems. A one-doctor clinic, dental practice or pharmacy has no compliance staff and nothing that does the backward self-check and keeps the defence file.
People & HR
UK visa sponsor compliance, checked against the payroll
For UK employers who sponsor overseas workers, such as care homes, restaurants, shops and builders: reads the payroll and rota every pay period, catches pay below a worker's certificate and absences that must be reported, and drafts the Home Office report before the deadline.
- Compliance
- Small businesses
- The evidence
- The Home Office revoked 1,948 sponsor licences between July 2024 and June 2025, more than double the 937 of the previous 12 months, and names adult social care, hospitality, retail and construction among the sectors with the highest levels of abuse. GOV.UK, Home Office news story, September 2025
- The gap
- Immigration law firms such as Fragomen and Kingsley Napley serve large sponsors by the hour. Small-sponsor tools such as i-migrator, SponsorPro and SMS System are record keepers: the sponsor types in each worker and date and gets reminders. Payroll and HR software such as Sage, Xero, BrightPay and BrightHR holds pay and absence data but knows nothing of sponsorship. None checks one against the other.
Public sector
Accessible documents for public bodies, before the 2027 deadline
For city, county and school-district websites, public universities and hospitals: finds every PDF, Word, slide and spreadsheet file, sets aside the ones the law exempts, fixes the rest for screen readers, checks each fix and keeps new uploads accessible.
- Compliance
- The evidence
- The ADA Title II web and mobile rule now applies from 26 April 2027 to state and local governments of 50,000 or more people and from 26 April 2028 to smaller ones and special districts, after an interim final rule of 20 April 2026. It covers word processing, presentation, PDF and spreadsheet files. U.S. Department of Justice, ADA.gov, Fact Sheet on the Title II web rule
- The gap
- Overlay widgets such as accessiBe and UserWay never touch documents. Scanners such as Deque, Siteimprove and Level Access flag problems but fix none. PDF tools and services such as Adobe Auto-Tag, CommonLook, Equidox and Accessible.org fix one file at a time, priced per page or seat. None sorts a site's thousands of files by the rule's exceptions, checks hard content like tables and maths, and stops bad uploads.
Logistics
A carrier safety file for small freight brokers
For small freight brokers who hand loads to trucking companies: checks each carrier's safety record against the broker's own written standard at every load, records why it was picked, and hands over the file when an insurer, shipper or lawyer asks.
- Compliance
- Small businesses
- Vertical software
- The evidence
- On 14 May 2026 the US Supreme Court unanimously reversed the lower court in Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, letting state negligent-selection claims against freight brokers go forward. Supreme Court of the United States, docket No. 24-1238
- The gap
- Carrier-vetting tools were built to stop fraud, not to show care over safety. Highway sells identity checks through a demo-led sale; Descartes MyCarrierPortal added an audit log only for its own customers; RMIS and Carrier Assure check insurance and authority at sign-up. None writes a small broker's own standard, rechecks it on every load and produces the defence file at a price a few-person broker can pay.
Personal finance
Keep Medicaid and food benefits through the new work rules
For low-income adults who must now prove 80 hours a month of work, school or volunteering to keep Medicaid or SNAP: keeps a running monthly record, spots exemptions such as caregiving or illness, and answers the state's notices before the deadline.
- Consumers
- Healthcare
- The evidence
- CMS's interim final rule of 1 June 2026 sets an 80 hours per month work requirement for certain Medicaid adults. States must generally implement it no later than 1 January 2027, and a person found out of compliance gets 30 calendar days to show compliance or an exemption. CMS fact sheet, Medicaid community engagement interim final rule, June 2026
- The gap
- The tools sit on the institution's side. Fortuna Health reaches people through health systems and plans; Gainwell, Deloitte, Optum and Maximus sell verification systems to states; CMS's Emmy is state-hosted and piloting with one state; Propel serves SNAP balances. None keeps a person's own month-by-month record across gig work, school and volunteering, works out their exemption, and answers a notice in time.
Construction
Jobsite safety briefings in every worker's own language
For contractors whose crews speak many languages: turns the day's real tasks into a spoken safety briefing in each worker's language, checks that every worker understood, and keeps the record an OSHA inspector or insurer asks for.
- Compliance
- Small businesses
- Vertical software
- The evidence
- Construction and extraction workers experienced 1,032 fatal injuries in 2024. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries, 2024
- The gap
- Raken, SafetyCulture, HammerTech, Salus and Procore hand the foreman a library of pre-written talks, mostly in English and Spanish, with a signature for attendance. None writes the briefing from that day's tasks, speaks it in the language each worker actually uses, or checks each worker understood. A signature proves attendance, not understanding, and understanding is OSHA's test.
E-commerce
Stop returns before they happen
Spots the order bought in three sizes to send two back, answers the fit question before checkout, and scores each return for fraud.
- Small businesses
- Vertical software
- The evidence
- Shoppers were expected to return $849.9 billion of goods in 2025, 19.3% of online sales, and 9% of returns are fraudulent. National Retail Federation and Happy Returns, October 2025
- The gap
- Return platforms handle the return once it starts. Preventing it, for stores below enterprise size, is barely served.
AI infrastructure
APIs that update their customers' code
When an API makes a breaking change, the provider opens the pull request that migrates each customer's code, instead of sending an email.
- AI agents
- Developer tools
- On YC's request list
- The evidence
- On Y Combinator's Fall 2026 Requests for Startups: API providers shouldn't just announce changes; they should apply them. Y Combinator, Requests for Startups, Fall 2026
- The gap
- Dependency bots only bump version numbers, and SDK generators don't touch customer code. Agents can now edit unfamiliar code well enough to open the pull request.
AI infrastructure
The AI transparency kit
A drop-in kit that tells users they're talking to an AI, marks generated content in a machine-readable way and labels deepfakes, as the EU now requires.
- Compliance
- Developer tools
- EU AI Act
- Small businesses
- The evidence
- Article 50 of the EU AI Act applies from 2 August 2026. Only the provider-side machine-readable marking duty for systems already on the market gets until 2 December 2026. Fines reach €15 million or 3% of worldwide turnover. Jones Walker, AI Law Blog, July 2026
- The gap
- Content-marking vendors serve enterprises or one platform. The disclosure duties have applied since 2 August 2026, and generative systems already on the market must add machine-readable marking by 2 December 2026. A small app maker still has no simple way to comply.

A first tutor for young children
A voice tutor at home that teaches four-to-eight-year-olds to read, write and count, one child at a time, at the child's own pace.
- Consumers
- Education
- On YC's request list
- The evidence
- On Y Combinator's Fall 2026 Requests for Startups as "The Primer": a product that adaptively teaches young children to read, write, and do arithmetic. Y Combinator, Requests for Startups, Fall 2026
- The gap
- Ello, the funded AI tutor for this age, now teaches reading and maths at home but not writing, and the best-known AI tutors are built for schools, not homes.

A career coach for people who pay for themselves
Coaching and practice conversations for the job you want next, for the many workers whose employer won't pay for training.
- Consumers
- Education
- The evidence
- Valence raised a $50 million Series B for AI coaching after one million coaching conversations, showing AI coaching works when employers buy it. Valence, September 2025
- The gap
- AI coaching is sold mostly to employers, and learning platforms sell courses, not coaching. Consumer AI career coaches are only at seed stage, such as Blomma (more than $5M seed led by Felicis, April 2026), so the person who pays for themselves is barely served.

Treatment options for vet clinics
During the exam, turns one diagnosis into two or three priced treatment plans with a payment plan attached, so the pet gets care the owner can afford.
- Healthcare
- Pricing and billing
- Small businesses
- Vertical software
- The evidence
- 94% of US vets say clients' finances often or sometimes prevent recommended treatment and 81% always or often recommend an alternative plan, yet 73% of owners who declined care over cost say they were not offered a lower-priced option. Gallup and PetSmart Charities, survey of 933 US vets, January 2026
- The gap
- Vet AI tools write the visit notes and practice software books the visits. None turns a case into priced options.
Family care
A care team app for families
Shares medicines, tasks and appointments across the family looking after a parent, and explains each care task in plain words.
- Caregiving
- Consumers
- Healthcare
- The evidence
- 63 million Americans, nearly 1 in 4 adults, are family caregivers, 20 million more than in 2015. More than half manage medical and nursing tasks, and just over 20% have had formal training. AARP and the National Alliance for Caregiving, July 2025
- The gap
- Care coordination is sold to employers as a benefit, comes with paid carers, or, like Hera ($27M Series A, June 2026), is run by nurse coordinators for Medicare patients. The free apps families use to share the work are basic.
